Ignorance of your shadow self points to an idealised self. In this case, a person happens to convince themselves that they only have admirable and good qualities even though it may not be true. There is nothing called an ideal person. Each of us has our dark thoughts, qualities and traits.

Therefore, we develop a reality where we only can be our ideal and perfect selves, even though in our hearts we know that it is not true. Ignoring the shadow self and enabling it to fester in us creates a foundation of part of our being that exists despite the objection to its existence.
