According to the Harvard Business Review, “attention management is the practice of controlling distractions, being present in the moment, finding flow, and maximizing focus so that you can unleash your genius.” We have to practice being intentional and not reactive.
We have to realize when we can get distracted and focus on what is before us. Instead of allowing our distractions to disrupt us, we can choose to pay attention to our goals at any given point. This can improve your productivity in ways more than checking things off your to-do lists.
It is more about taking back control than exercising your focus. Using attention management techniques will result in having a life surrounded by your priorities. Regardless of how you go about your life, attention and expectations go together. It is essential to have a realistic aim rather than waste efforts.
